Welcome to the first Monday of 2022!
For us here in the DC area, we’ve went from a mid-60F weekend to a winter storm forecast to dump 5-9 inches of snow today.
East coast weather. Don’t like it? Wait a minute.
Already pictures of store shelves empty yesterday and a frenzy of people rushing to buy the usual…bread, milk, toilet paper.
Great, toilet paper hoarding again, you’d think they’d still have enough left over from 2020.
I’ve never understood the human need to compulsively rush out and stock up for an ‘emergency’ event. First, if it’s truly an emergency, then it’s impossible to plan for it.
Secondly, why aren’t we all more prepared. A lot of us men learned that in Boy Scouts..Be Prepared.
In my house, we don’t rush out, we stay ready. We have plenty to eat, TP stays stocked at a reasonable level and we have provisions and preparations in case power goes out.
Being prepared and ready is a peace of mind thing, one less thing to think about.
Are you prepared?
Until next time, stay on course and sail true.

Happy New Year, Chief.
Thanks, Chief... I just posted a couple of hours ago about the Boy Scouts' motto... Great minds... LOL! We already go the snow up here in Northern People's Republic of New York. This morning was -9 and went down to -13 after the sun came up... Gotta love it!
