On my Twitter account, I sporadically post Dad Jokes. You know, the horrible, make you groan type jokes that are so bad they, well, make you groan.
I started it a while back when I noticed the TL (Timeline for you non-bird app users) was getting a tad too dark and serious. So, me being me, I started peppering post with corny puns and jokes. It took off.
People started noticing, both when I’d post one and when I wouldn’t for a while. I found it funny. I could post a well thought out Tweet about profound leadership viewpoints and get maybe 4 likes. Post one corny Dad Joke, I’d get 100. Who knows?
I think the point is that for me at least, humor has always been a tool. From my high school days when I was chubby and didn’t fit in quite right everywhere to today when I’m chubby and use humor to defuse volatile situations, the laugh has been the weapon of choice for me.
We need to laugh, to destress ourselves and to remember that not everything needs to be so serious. So I’m going to start sharing my week’s best Dad Joke from my Twitter via email to all of you who don’t follow me there. (But you should!)
So here’s this week’s. Enjoy and remember to laugh a lot, life’s too short not to!

When does a joke become a Dad joke? When it becomes apparent.
