Happy Monday! May you have a wonderful work week. Today we start the series of emails I promised that will discuss how I wound up leaving a job I loved and how that ‘fortune’ found me in a better place, personally and professionally.
I recently started a new job this past week and it was a good week. Best week I’ve had in awhile. Now, before the people I used to work with and for read this, know it wasn’t you, it was me. All me.
I let a promotion into a position that I probably wasn’t ready for let stress build on me until it damn near killed me. Pressure on myself led to worsening health and lifestyle habits.
As I said in this video recently, I take full accountability for it. It’s all on me.
As a leader, we tend to get focused on the job, the metrics and our teams. As we should.
But when we lose the focus and let ourselves go, we are of no use to anyone. A burned out bulb shines no light for itself or anyone.
I’ll be sending out videos from my YouTube channel that I’ll cross post here, way too much to type about.
Until then, take care of yourself and your teams.
